Dr Graham’s Homes – the school in India that looks after our sponsored children – has been busy recently. They’ve just relaunched their official website:drgrahamshomes.net

For anyone who knows and loves the Homes, or who sponsors a child there, it’s a great source of info about school life and what’s going on there right now.

Here are eight highlights from the site (click the titles to open the links).

1: DGH video tour (opens in YouTube) Go on a 5-minute school tour, with drone footage over the spectacular Himalayan campus and an introduction to the school’s ethos and setup.

2. Key dates Find out the term dates, exam dates, inter-Cottage competition dates… all the key events in the school year are listed on this downloadable Calendar.

3: Famous pupils See what some of the school’s famous alumni have gone on to achieve after they graduated. (Spoiler: two of them became Prime Ministers…).

4: Picture gallery Flick through a great set of recent photos taken around the school, from the Lucia King kindergarten to the cottages where our children live.

5: The DGH bagpipers! Watch one of the school’s most famous extracurricular activities in action – the school bagpipe band. Bagpiping is, of course, a nod to DGH’s Scottish roots.

6. School anthem Ever wondered what the DGH school anthem sounds like? Now you can hear it play out in real time.

7. Homes history Read up on the origins of the Homes, starting in 1887 when the Young Men’s Guild dispatched founder John Graham to Kalimpong as a missionary.

8. Curriculum Find out what the children will be studying while they’re at the Homes, including the ISCE and ISC stages (the equivalent to post-16 and post-18 exams in the UK).
